You can reach me at kidada.williams@wayne.edu.

I am a distinguished public speaker, acknowledged in my field, and capable of addressing a wide range of topics related to African American history. My existing and emerging commitments don’t always enable me to fulfill last minute requests or work on demand so please try to plan ahead for events, include all relevant details (including appropriate compensation), and remember that Black History Month and Juneteenth are the same time every year. 😉

Want to work with other amazing scholars who are committed to sharing their expertise with the history-curious public? The historical profession has you covered. Check out:

•    The Association for the Study of African American Life and History’s Carter G. Woodson Distinguished Lecturers

•    The Organization of American Historians’ Distinguished Lecturers

•    The Women Also Know History database, which is searchable by topic and includes contact information.

You could also contact your local colleges and universities to request a speaker for your event. This can be a valuable professional development opportunity for graduate and doctoral students. It’s important to give them enough time to prepare and to offer fair compensation.
